This aromatic skin tonic is created with wild harvested, artisan steam distilled Frankincense and California Sagebrush. Desert Rain helps to balance the pH, regulate oil production, and clear problematic skin. May also be used as a therapeutic mist or as a hair and scalp tonic.
 
Frankincense (Boswellia carteri ): Frankincense is a powerful tree resin that has been used by humankind for nearly 5,000 years. This sacred substance was more precious than gold in ancient times and is often used to prepare the mind for prayer, meditation, or yoga. We hydro-distill this resin in our copper alembic still in our lab to create a milky hydrosol that is sweet with woody undertones. Frankincense is excellent at firming and toning wrinkles and fine lines. It is protective, purifying, and fortifying for all skin and spirits.

California Sagebrush (Artemisia californica) : The scent of California Sagebrush is surprisingly sweet with soft sage notes, although it is not a true sage. We wild harvest our California Sagebrush along the Northern California coast and steam distill in our copper alembic still. This plant ally is often often used to help fight fatigue, stimulate the nervous system. It is naturally acidic helping to balance the pH of the skin and packed with anti-inflammatory properties.

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris): We use Mugwort essential oil that is made in small batches. Mugwort is known for exuding soothing and calming effects on the nervous system and brain, stimulating relaxation and tranquility. It benefits the skin with it’s antioxidant properties, ability to stimulate collagen in the skin and anti-inflammatory properties to support sensitive skin. Because essential oils are very potent, we dilute all of our essential oils to 1% of the overall formulation for safe skin use.
